Ms. Orachorn Nannar has long been a leader in professional nursing, civic responsibility, Thai culture and Buddhist values. Now in retirement, she has increased her civic responsibilities in numerous roles, projects and achievements.
She is a graduate of Mc Cormick School of Nursing, Chiang Mai, Thailand. She recently received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing from Sukhothai Thammathirath University, Nonthaburi, Thailand.
Ms. Nannar is retired from Loyola University Hospital Medical Center, Maywood, Illinois. Her last position was as Charge Nurse of the main operating room, evening shift. She has been recognized by the hospital and her co-workers and received the Megis Star Award twice. She has actively participated in the social and religious activities of the Thai community and Thai Buddhist Temples, among others. She served two years as Secretary of the Thai Nurses Association and four years as a member of the Board of Directors. She has been vice president of the Thai –American Association of Illinois and also served one year as treasurer of the Ramayana Institute of North America.
She is president of the Thai Nurses Association of Illinois and entering her third term as advisor to the Thai-American Association and vice president of Thai Illinois Project (fundraiser for education of poor children in Thailand). She has participated in numerous Health Fairs for the Thai community and Asian Health Fair, also medical missions in several provinces of Thailand. She has been a member of the AACC since 1996 and has participated in organization’s activities.
