Kevin Pham is a diligent and dedicated undergrad freshman at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (UIUC) majoring in Chemistry and Biology. At UIUC, Kevin is a member of the Esports, Dance Club, and Cooking Club.
Before enrolling at UIUC, he was a celebrated member of Lake View High School's Class of 2015. He was a quintessential high school student, demonstrating academic excellence, sportsmanship, and extracurricular involvement. Seldom was he receiving anything less than straight A's. Kevin graduated at Lake View high school with a GPA of 4.714 and ranked 3rd in his graduating class. He earned a number of awards such as Principle's Honor Roll and National Honor Society. Additionally, Kevin name was added to the school's Wall of Fame for his academic achievement.
As the secretary of the National Honor Society, he organized and effectively executed a number of projects to improve the school and give back to the surrounding community, such as blood drives, Veteran's Day ceremonies, and collecting donations such as toys and books for needy children.
Moreover, Kevin has been a valuable volunteer member at the Vietnamese Association of Illinois (VAI). Often time, Kevin volunteered with Asian cultural events and tutored kids’ ages 6-13 year old with math and reading. During school breaks, Kevin volunteers by tutoring and supervising program different age groups.
Kevin is the first in his family to attend college. Therefore, he has the responsibility to study hard while in school. He hopes to support his family in all capacities after his academic career. Kevin illustrates a positive role model for youth and others that hard work can bring success to one’s life.
